Pillows Grand Hotel Place Rouppe

Our boutique hotel Pillows Grand Hotel Place Rouppe, the Travellers Choice of Tripadvisor in 2018, is located on the dynamic Rouppe Square. The modern and luxurious hotel has 43 rooms and suites. In the hotel guests have the opportunity to meet, dine in restaurant The Living, or enjoy a good glass of wine that is poured with pleasure by our hosts. Under the guidance of chef Trung Hoang, the experienced kitchen team together with the F&B team ensures that the guests have everything they need. Internship Kitchen (available from August 2019)

During this internship, you will be a part of our kitchen team. You will be assisting our chef de cuisine and the chef de parties by doing all the necessary preparations and you will take care of the composition, presentation and garnishing of all dishes. You will take care of the mise-en-place. You know about HACCP and are co-responsible for making sure these regulations are met. You get the opportunity to work together with a top chef who established a ‘chefs hat award’ who will guide you in developing your skills towards a Michelin star level.

Internship Front Office Host (available from February 2020)

During this internship you will be part of our front office team. You will be the first person of contact for our guests and it will be one of your responsibilities to make them feel welcome. When they require (touristic) information or want to make a reservation somewhere, it will be your job to assist them and give them advice. You will be taking care of (phone) reservations, check-in and check-out and the administrative processing of personal details. As a team you are responsible for the well-being of our guests, which means you need to be able to serve a welcome drink as well and gain experience within F&B. You will be in constant contact with guests which offers the perfect opportunity to train your service levels at a high and exclusive level.

Internship Housekeeping Supervisor (available from February 2020)

During your internship you will assist our Housekeeping manager. You will focus primarily on the operations side but you will get to know all the aspects of the department. Together with the Manager and Assistant Manager, you will be charge of inspecting rooms for our guests prior to arrival, follow up the cleaning team and room attendants, and the stock management. You will constantly be in contact with the operational teams of the hotel (Front Office, Guest Services and Food & Beverage), making sure our guests (and VIPS) are perfectly taken care off. We will help you in developing your leadership competences as well as your knowledge and experience in one of the most important departments of the hotel.

Internship Food & Beverages Host (available from February 2020)

During this internship your main focus will be on the F&B department and work together as a team to serve our guests as best as we can. We will teach you all about purchasing, stock management, promotions, menu design, staff schedules, forecasting and efficiency. You will also support the operational activities of the F&B department, banqueting, etc. You will constantly be in contact with our guests which offers the perfect opportunity to train your service levels at a high and exclusive level. We will help you in developing your leadership competences as well as your knowledge and experience of the F&B world.

Internship Reservations & Revenue (available from February 2020)

During this internship, you will be a part of our reservations team as well as our revenue team for both our hotels in Brussels. You will work with the reservations team for 2 days and with the revenue team for 3 days.

Reservations: You will receive and accept phone reservations and send confirmations and tenders. You will be doing the input of group reservations, adapting and updating the system and creating offers. You will be able to implement your knowledge about yield management and your commercial insights. You will be working in close collaboration with the Sales Department as well as the Front Office Department.

Revenue management: You will be assisting our hotel manager and our revenue manager. You will be asked to prepare meetings and communicate with multiple partners such as booking.com, Expedia, etc. You will be able to apply yield management and commercial insights in both customer relations as well as bookings.

Check your profile;

  • You are following a training course in the field of hotels/tourism and an internship is an integral part of your education
  • Available for a 5-month internship
  • Experience in a similar role in the hotel industry/hospitality is an advantage
  • Eager to learn and able to work independently
  • Flexible and enthusiastic to learn and develop
  • Impeccable communication skills oral and written in Dutch and/or French and English. Any other language is a plus.

What we offer

We offer you a diversified internship in a luxury boutique hotel that approaches things differently. You will join a team of experienced hospitality professionals who are ready to teach you everything they know about hospitality and coach you to become the best you can be. On top of that you will receive a monthly pay of €400. Please note that we cannot offer accommodation to our interns. If you apply please make sure you have or can find accommodation for the duration of your internship. If needed, we can give you advice about this.
