Pillows Grand Hotel Reylof in Ghent reopened its doors on 6 October 2018. This stately hotel with 157 rooms, bars, an extensive Living area, Salons, and a SPA has been completely transformed into a boutique hotel. Its ambience is defined by subtle luxury, soft colours, and rich, natural materials. It's not just the hotel that's got a makeover; the famous LOF restaurant has been completely renovated as well. What makes this restaurant unique is that it carries Ron Blaauw's signature style. Blaauw is one of the Netherlands' most celebrated chefs. He translated his successful Ron Gastrobar concept for LOF. Ron Blaauw is known for his contemporary approach to cooking, which combines local ingredients with modern cooking techniques.

Your role

As Manager Technical Services, you will be responsible with your team for all maintenance issues within the hotel, daily maintenance checks, and repairing mechanical equipment to deliver an excellent Guest experience. You will be responsible for the operational state of the hotel, for solving all technical problems, and assembling parts, replacing, repairing and inspecting them when needed. Organizing daily and periodical checks and making sure used materials are maintained are part of your job description.

Together with your team some of the tasks may include: executing installations of electricity systems, fire-life safety, repairing (kitchen) parts, installations, facilities, lighting, sewage, etc. You will complete extensive repair and or maintenance projects and follow-up on all necessary renovation projects in the hotel.  

The budget of the department will be one of your responsibilities as well as maintaining stock and ordering all necessary items. You will be working together with the project managers who are responsible for the contact with all suppliers and contractors.

Who are you?

Are you a hospitality professional with technical insight? Are you able to accurately and efficiently solve technical problems? Can you support and lead the team to make sure all technical issues are dealt with that guests don’t even notice?

Check your profile;

  • You have a technical degree or equivalent by experience.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, with preference experience within the Hospitality Industry or facility management in a residential project.
  • Advanced knowledge of building management.
  • Extensive knowledge about electrotechnics.
  • Leadership experience is required.
  • Inventive and flexible to respond to a range of different work situations.
  • Solution oriented and hands-on mentality.
  • Positive and pro-active attitude.
  • Willing to work flexible hours, 7 days a week, in a on-call rotation schedule.
  • Good communication skills in Dutch and/ or English and French would be an advantage.
